This is a high stakes fantasy romance which starts fast and furious in chapter one and never lets up until the very end. Our main character Artura, is snarky, sassy, bold and often stupidly brave, but boy is she loyal. Get ready to be emotionally traumatised, in all the good bookish ways!

The romance was definitely the light within the dark, as King Thorn was our perfect bookish boyfriend. I particularly loved the way that he supported Artura to find her inner power, encouraging her to keep investing in herself as they began to form a plan to make this world better.

I highly recommend this book which felt much like a combination of the vibes of Kingdom of Ash and Heir of Fire from the Throne of Glass Series.

Artura & Thorn are💥.

This is a slow 🔥 but medium spice book that will suck you in.
I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for instalment number 2.

‘Queen of Poison & Fire’ Review

“Queen of Poison and Fire” is a different kind of fantasy story – yes it has knights, dragons, witches and of course magic, along with the damsel in distress and the knight in shining armor or in Artura’s case – a young man with swagger and confidence of youth – but he is also dark and mysterious that oozes appeal and desire. It’s a story that has captivated me from the very first and held me in its clutches until the end. It was a well-paced fantasy tale that had the reader going through some very roller coaster moments – having my emotions all over the damn place.

OMG, Ophelia and Luca put the slow in slow burn but it was so worth it. It was incredibly sweet to see the build up, the initial hesitance that eventually becomes comforting and familiar, particularly as Lia when the realisation that she may love him hits her like a tonne of bricks. They compliment one another wonderfully and when they aren’t in immediate danger of dying, share moments of tender-heartedness where you can’t help but go “Awww!” I look forward to the second book in the trilogy.
